Prospectr Digital
SEO + Answer Engine Optimization

Rank in Google. Get cited by AI.

Search engines are no longer just blue links. In 2026, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overview answer your prospects' questions directly - and if your website is not the cited source, you are invisible before the funnel even starts.

Prospectr's SEO + AEO program covers both tracks: traditional keyword ranking to capture the buyers who still click, and Answer Engine Optimization to position your brand as the trusted source AI engines quote. One team. One integrated strategy. No gaps.

The 2026 Reality

Traditional SEO is not enough anymore.

Google AI Overview now appears at the top of over 40% of search results, pushing blue-link rankings further down the page. ChatGPT handles more than 100 million queries per day. Perplexity is the default research tool for a growing slice of B2B buyers.

When a decision-maker types "best commercial cleaning marketing company" into an AI assistant and your competitor's name comes back as the answer - you lost the opportunity before the form was ever filled out. That is not a ranking problem. That is an AEO problem.

The businesses winning in 2026 are optimizing for both channels at once. Rank in the links AND get cited in the answers. Prospectr builds programs that do exactly that.

40%+
of Google searches now show AI Overviews at the top
100M+
daily ChatGPT queries from buyers researching vendors
17.3M
organic impressions generated for Prospectr clients
494K+
qualified organic clicks delivered across client campaigns
Our SEO Program

Six pillars of organic search that actually compounds.

SEO is not a one-time project. It is a compounding monthly process. Every audit fix, every new keyword win, and every quality backlink builds on the last. Here is exactly what we run each month.

Technical SEO Audit

We start with a full crawl of your site - page speed, crawlability, Core Web Vitals, indexation errors, duplicate content, and broken links. No guessing. Every recommendation is tied to a measurable ranking impact.

Keyword Research and Strategy

We identify the exact phrases your ideal buyers type into Google and the exact questions they ask AI assistants. High-intent, commercial keywords only. No vanity traffic that never converts.

On-Page Optimization

Every page gets a full on-page pass: title tags, meta descriptions, H1 hierarchy, internal linking, image alt text, and structured semantic HTML. We make it easy for both Google and AI engines to understand your pages.

Link Building and Authority

We build white-hat backlinks through digital PR, industry directory citations, and strategic partnerships. We also audit and disavow toxic backlinks dragging your domain rating down.

Content Creation and Marketing

U.S.-based writers create SEO-optimized blog posts, service pages, and landing pages designed to rank and convert. Every piece is answer-first structured - built to satisfy both human readers and AI crawlers.

Monthly Reporting and Review

You get a plain-English monthly report covering keyword rank movements, organic traffic trends, conversion tracking, and next-month priorities. No vanity metrics. Just what matters to your pipeline.

Our AEO Program

How we get you cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI.

AEO is not a buzzword. It is a specific set of technical and content practices that make your site the preferred source for AI-generated answers. These are the four layers we implement for every AEO client.

Machine Readability and Static Rendering

The first thing we check, and the single highest-leverage fix we make. Most AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript. A client-rendered React or Vue site that looks beautiful to a human returns an almost empty document to GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, and Google-Extended. We compare the raw HTML delivered on first response to the fully rendered DOM and, when they disagree, we prerender or server-render the pages your buyers ask about. No amount of great copy matters if the crawler never sees it.

Schema Markup Implementation

We add Organization, Service, FAQ, HowTo, and LocalBusiness JSON-LD schema to your pages. This is the primary language AI engines use to understand and cite your business in generated answers. Our detector is whitespace-tolerant and validates against Google Rich Results plus Schema.org shape rules, so partial or malformed blocks get caught before they ship.

FAQ and Answer Block Optimization

We research the specific questions your buyers ask ChatGPT and Perplexity, then build structured FAQ blocks on your key pages that match those queries. When the AI is asked, your page gets cited.

AI Citation Optimization

We audit your existing content for answer density, the ratio of clear, direct answers to the total word count. Thin or evasive content gets rewritten to match the answer-first format that AI systems prefer to quote.

llms.txt and Crawler Reconciliation

We publish an llms.txt file that gives assistants a curated map of your most citation-worthy pages and reconcile it against robots.txt, your sitemap, and the actual response codes each URL returns. We content-type verify every route, because a 200 response that serves text/html instead of text/plain is a failure that looks like a pass. Most agencies are not doing any of this yet.

Entity Definition and Third-Party Corroboration

AI assistants weight independent sources heavily. Being absent from every category directory, review site, and business database is the most common reason a brand never gets named in a generated answer. We treat this as its own workstream: Wikidata submission, Crunchbase and LinkedIn alignment, G2 and Capterra profiles where the category fits, industry roundup outreach, and consistent NAP across the directories that feed the retrieval layer.

Fact Consistency Across Sources

Retrieval systems use agreement across independent sources to decide a claim is true. If your website says one thing, your LinkedIn says another, and your Google Business Profile says a third, the assistant either picks whichever it trusts most or refuses to answer. We lock a single canonical set of facts about your company, then propagate that canon everywhere it appears.

The First Thing We Check

If AI crawlers see a blank page, nothing else matters.

Most AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript. GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, and Google-Extended read the raw HTML your server returns on first response and stop there. If your site is a client-rendered React or Vue app, that first response is a near-empty shell, and every word of copy, every schema block, and every FAQ answer is invisible to the assistants your buyers are asking.

This is not a niche edge case. It is the single most common reason a good-looking site never gets cited. We check for it before we quote any other work, because a beautiful site the machines cannot read is the most expensive mistake in AEO.

When we find it, we fix it by prerendering, server-side rendering, or migrating revenue pages to a static output. Then the rest of the program has something to build on.

What we run
  • 1.Fetch each key URL with JavaScript disabled, the way GPTBot does.
  • 2.Diff the raw response body against the fully rendered DOM.
  • 3.Confirm the H1, first paragraph, primary CTA, and every FAQ answer are present in the raw response.
  • 4.Score the delta as pass, marginal, or blocking, and hand back a page-level report.
  • 5.Where blocking, prerender or SSR the affected routes before any content work is scoped.
Our Public Pre-Flight Checklist

Six checks that catch what most audits miss.

Most SEO audits stop at page speed and title tags. Ours starts where AI retrieval systems actually break. These are the checks we run on every prospect site before we write a proposal, published in full so you can see exactly what we look at.

Raw versus rendered HTML

We pull each key URL exactly the way an AI crawler does, with JavaScript disabled, and compare that body to the fully rendered DOM. When they disagree, the crawler is reading a blank page. This is the single most common reason a well-written site is invisible to AI.

Content-type verification

robots.txt, sitemap.xml, and llms.txt must return the correct MIME type, not just a 200 status. A robots.txt that ships as text/html is treated as garbage by strict crawlers. We check the header, not the code, on every route.

Bogus-URL soft-404 probing

We request URLs that should not exist and confirm your server returns a real 404. Sites that answer 200 for anything, called soft-404s, poison an AI's trust in your entire domain because it cannot tell what is a real page and what is not.

Sitemap loc counting and reconciliation

We count the actual <loc> entries in your sitemap, cross-check them against your llms.txt and robots.txt, and flag orphaned or duplicated URLs. A sitemap with the wrong routes teaches the crawler to look in the wrong places.

Whitespace-tolerant JSON-LD detection

Malformed or extra-whitespace schema blocks fail silently in most validators but still ship. Our detector treats them the way Google's parser does and fails the check when yours does not match the strict shape.

llms.txt route reconciliation

Every URL listed in your llms.txt gets a live fetch. Any 404, 301 chain, noindex header, or auth wall becomes a finding, because assistants that hit those errors mark the site as unreliable and stop crawling.

Every finding lands in a plain-English report with the failing URL, the exact response we received, the fix we recommend, and where it slots into the roadmap. No black boxes, no jargon walls.

Entity and Third-Party Corroboration

AI assistants trust independent sources more than your website.

Retrieval systems weight independent sources heavily. When an assistant decides whom to name in an answer, it looks for a consistent story across your site, your LinkedIn, your Crunchbase entry, category directories like G2 and Capterra, industry roundups, and Google Business Profile. Agreement across independent sources is how the model decides a claim is true.

The most common reason a brand never gets cited is not bad copy. It is being absent from the third-party corpus the model actually reads. We run this as its own monthly workstream, not an afterthought.

We lock one canonical set of facts, publish them on your own domain first, then propagate the same facts everywhere else assistants look. If a source disagrees with the canon, we fix the source.

Where we place the canon
  • Wikidata entity, submitted and monitored
  • Crunchbase profile aligned
  • LinkedIn company and named-person pages aligned
  • Google Business Profile canonical NAP
  • G2 and Capterra where the category applies
  • Category roundups and industry publications
  • 40+ NAP directories and sameAs cluster on-site
  • Quarterly press release for fresh citation surface

Every new page we publish is an original, U.S.-written page with its own embedded FAQ block wrapped in FAQPage schema - that is the exact structure ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overview quote when they answer your buyers. On top of on-page work, five recurring off-site automations run continuously: a weekly multi-engine AI citation sweep, an off-site mention engine, named-person LinkedIn publishing, a content freshness watchdog, and a monthly proprietary-data asset.

The Month-Over-Month Roadmap

A compounding engine, not a one-time project.

SEO and AEO compound. Here is the exact cadence we run for every client, month over month, from foundation to measurable AI visibility.

Month 1

Entity Foundation

Full technical SEO audit and fixes. Lock your entity canon (one legal name, one NAP). Build the Organization / LocalBusiness / Service schema graph, verify your sameAs trust cluster (LinkedIn, Crunchbase, GBP), claim and optimize your Google Business Profile, deploy llms.txt, and capture a baseline citation battery across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.

Month 2

Content and Corroboration

First 2 FAQ-embedded pages plus 2 blog posts and 1 AEO answer page go live. Schema suite maintained and validated. Crunchbase and LinkedIn aligned to your canon. We draft and submit your Wikidata entity - the strongest legitimate on-ramp into Google's Knowledge Graph, which trains the AI answers your buyers see.

Month 3

Local and Off-Site Ignition

City and location page expansion. Weekly GBP posts and citation cleanup across 40+ directories. Automated review generation goes live. The recurring AI-citation automations start running: a weekly multi-engine citation sweep, an off-site mention engine, named-person LinkedIn publishing, a content freshness watchdog, and a monthly proprietary-data asset. Your first quarterly press release is distributed.

Month 4 and beyond

Compound and Measure

Hold the monthly content, GBP, social, and LinkedIn cadence. Freshness watchdog guards your revenue pages. Monthly proprietary-data asset seeds new citations. We re-run the citation battery and rank report, capture 4 / 12 / 24-week checkpoints, and claim your Knowledge Panel when it appears. SEO and AEO compound - the longer you run, the stronger the moat.

Transparent Pricing

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about SEO and AEO.

What is the difference between SEO and AEO?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) helps your website rank in traditional blue-link results on Google. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) goes further - it optimizes your content to be cited directly in AI-generated answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overview. In 2026, both matter. Winning only one means losing visibility on the other half of how buyers research vendors.

How long does SEO take to show results?

Most clients see measurable keyword rank improvements within 60 to 90 days for lower-competition terms. Competitive industries typically require 4 to 6 months to show significant organic traffic growth. AEO improvements - specifically appearing in AI-cited answers - can happen faster once schema and FAQ blocks are properly implemented, often within 30 to 60 days.

Will you write the content or does my team?

We handle all content creation. Every blog post, service page, and AEO answer block is written by our U.S.-based team, reviewed for accuracy by you, and optimized before publishing. You approve everything before it goes live.

Do you work with B2B companies specifically?

Yes. Our SEO and AEO programs are built around B2B buyer journeys - longer sales cycles, multiple decision-makers, and content that needs to work at every stage from awareness to vendor selection. We are not a generalist agency. We specialize in B2B.

What industries do you serve?

We have run SEO and lead generation programs for commercial cleaning franchises, facilities services companies, professional services firms, SaaS, and B2B service businesses of all sizes. If your buyers use Google or AI assistants to research vendors - and they do - we can help.

Is this month-to-month or a contract?

We offer month-to-month agreements. SEO is a compounding investment - the longer you run it, the stronger your results. We recommend a minimum 6-month commitment to see the full effect, but we do not lock you in. Results keep you here.

Why do you check if AI crawlers can read our site before anything else?

Because most cannot. GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, and Google-Extended largely do not execute JavaScript. If your site is a client-rendered React or Vue app, the first response they receive is a near-empty HTML shell. Every word of copy, every schema block, and every FAQ answer is invisible to them. We diff the raw response against the rendered DOM on every key URL and, when they disagree, we prerender or server-render the pages before any other AEO work is worth doing.

What is llms.txt and do we need one?

llms.txt is a plain-text file at the root of your domain that gives AI assistants a curated map of your most citation-worthy pages, similar in spirit to robots.txt for humans. Adoption is still early, which is exactly why publishing one now is a low-cost credibility signal. We ship llms.txt as part of the Growth program, reconciled against your sitemap and robots.txt, with content-type verification so it is actually served as text and not accidentally rendered as HTML.

Can I add AEO to an existing SEO program I already run?

Absolutely. If you already have an SEO agency and just want the AEO layer added - schema implementation, AI citation optimization, FAQ block creation - we can scope that as a standalone project or retainer.
